About University of Bath
The University of Bath is a campus university set on a hill overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath in south-west England. Founded in 1966 as a technological university, Bath has evolved into one of the UK's top 10 institutions with particular strength in engineering, business, natural sciences and sport.
Bath is known for its placement year programme — the majority of undergraduate degrees include a year working in industry, giving students professional experience before graduating. This contributes to Bath's consistently excellent graduate employment statistics, which rank among the highest in the UK.
For North American students, Bath offers a distinctive combination: a self-contained hilltop campus with excellent facilities, a stunningly beautiful Georgian city below, and one of the strongest graduate outcomes of any UK university. It's a popular choice for students who want a campus experience (unusual in the UK) within reach of a culturally rich city.

Campus & Student Life
Bath's campus sits on Claverton Down, a hill overlooking the city. It has a proper campus feel — accommodation, teaching, sports facilities and the Students' Union are all in one place. The sports facilities are Olympic-standard (Bath hosted Olympic training). The city below is compact and beautiful, with Georgian architecture, Roman baths, independent shops and a thriving food scene. The downside is the hill — the walk up from the city is steep.

Bath accepts AP scores (typically 5,5,4 or equivalent), IB diploma (36+ points) and Canadian provincial qualifications. The placement year programme is a significant draw for international students wanting UK work experience. Bath's campus feel is more familiar to North American students than the scattered-building approach of most UK universities. The university has a small but growing North American community.

📍 About Bath
Bath is one of England's most beautiful cities — a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its Georgian architecture and Roman history. It's a small city (population 90,000) with excellent independent restaurants, pubs and shops. Bristol is 15 minutes away by train for bigger-city amenities. London is 90 minutes by train. Living costs are moderate to high by UK standards — lower than London but higher than many northern cities.
